Wednesday Testimony – Voddie Baucham

Dear ones, this, like most testimonies, was a cause for tears. Dr. Voddie Baucham is one of those preachers that commands a room without trying to, with his deep booming voice, impressive beard, and intimidating size. However, every time I hear this great man preach I never go away from it considering Baucham greatness, but Gods. This is because the center focus of this mans life is to bring glory to God, and you can hear it begin in his testimony.

Somehow, sharing the Gospel with our family is more difficult, and seemingly shows less fruit. Often times, because our family knows who we were, it’s the change in us that makes the greatest difference in our conversations. But for many of us, our families are not near us enough to see that change. When Voddie talks here, in his testimony below, about his family back in California I wonder how hard it was for him to reach them. Don’t we all have those relatives that are so far away from us that we’re not sure how to reach them? Voddie friend, such an important part of his testimony, has some great advice. I hope it will bless you as much as it blessed me. As always beloved brethren, be good Berean’s and study to show yourselves approved.

Family Sermon Series by Voddie Baucham

Hello dear ones! Today I’d like to share, and discuss, brother Voddie Baucham’s sermon series from the Ephesus Family Conference. There’s five parts in all, each of which are available here at Sermon Audio. There have been tremendous moves against the family unit for decades now. As Baucham explains in the series, God uses marriage as an example of Christ and His bride. Satan hates that, this he hates the example each of our marriages consists of. Our brother does a phenomenal job of rebuking where needed, encouraging and edifying throughout, and exegeting Ephesians and Jeremiah. This series was such a blessing, explains so much Biblical truth, and was so timely, I felt it needed to be shared.

The first part is an introduction to Ephesians chapters 4 and 5. He runs through these verses and their applications, as well as explaining some important hermeneutical principles. In the next two parts he exegetes chapters 4 then 5, and applies it to the family. In the last two parts of the series he switches to Jeremiah 29. The fourth part is spent explaining the context of the chapter, like a giant Twisted Tuesday, he untangles all the ways Jeremiah 20:11 is misused. In the final part of the series he explains how Jeremiah applies to the family through the principle of a multigenerational promise.

Brother Baucham is funny, without making light of the text or the topic. He teaches Biblically sound doctrine, explains misconceptions, and uses Scripture to interpreted Scripture. This five part sermon series is the kind you’ll want to listen to with pin and paper in hand. What a blessing it is to have the technology we have today, we don’t even have to travel to this conference to reap the benefits of it! I pray these sermons will be a blessing to you all. As always, beloved brethren, be good Berean’s and study to show yourselves approved.
