How to Know Absolute Truth

Hello beloved brethren, I hope this post finds you all doing well! I’m so excited about today’s episode. We’re constantly bombarded by varies philosophical and theological ideals, how do we know what’s true and what’s not? We go to the absolute standard. So today I attempted to break down epistemology, and how we can use it to improve our apologetics. I’ve included a ton of resources for anyone who wants to do some more research. You’ll find them all in the timestamped outline below.

Also, if you didn’t get a chance to see last weeks MEGA list, I’m going to link to it here. Big news, y’all, Tulips & Honey Hub now officially has it’s own app! Reformed Audio Books with Jordan Riggle

Hello dear ones! I hope this finds you all doing well. Today’s episode is an interview with Audio Book creator Jordan Riggle. His passion for seeing believers read more from Godly men throughout church history was so encouraging to me. As you know, I have a love for church fathers, reformers, and puritan literature so this was all right in my wheel house. I hope you’ll enjoy this episode and consider supporting this brother-in-Christ should you decide an audio book is what you are looking for. And please, please don’t miss the bloopers. I know, I say that every time, but this one is a particularly hilarious set, if you need a good laugh head over to my YouTube channel and skip to the end.

Santa Punched a Heretic? Friday MEGA List: December 13th, 2019

Hello dear ones, can you believe there’s only a few Friday’s left in this year? I have given my word to eat pineapple pizza in the new year, the countdown has begun for me. Have I considered fleeing the country, changing my name, shutting down podcast and blog, all to avoid this pizza? Maybe. But I’ll be eating that pizza come the new year, so keep your eye out for Tulips & Honey. Speaking of which, a quick update on what you can expect next week is in order. We’ll still only be dropping one episode a week for the remainder of the month. Monday, Lord willing, our interview with the writers of Through the Narrow will drop. It’s a fascinating discussion on Gina’s testimony, family evangelism, and of course some shenanigans.

Recommendations: Podcasts and Books

The Sovereignty of God by A. W. Pink was sent to me by Accelerated Books as a free e-gift. Isn’t that such a blessing? I’ve been hoping to spend more time reading Pink, and now I have the chance to. I haven’t finished it yet, once I do I’ll bumped this down to the Review category, but so far I can for sure recommend it. I’d also like to recommend The Aquila & Priscilla Hour’s most recent episode where I was shocked to learn a bit of history I had never heard before. St. Nicolas, like the St. Nicolas, was one that stood against Arianism in the 4th century, to the point where he clocked him in frustration. That’s right, punched him right in the face! Better watch out, better not have bad doctrine, I’m telling you why…you know this is a better version of the song. You can hear the entire episode through all the major podcasting options, or even on YouTube.

Review: By What Standard

Most of you know that the past week has been a very emotional one for Founders Ministries as Pastor Tom Ascol collapsed during his Sunday sermon. As we joined together as one body of believers to pray for him, he slowly recovered, and we now wait to hear test results. Meanwhile, their long awaited documentary By What Standard finally hit the internet yesterday. It is a fascinating, and challenging look at the current state of the SBC’s battle with Scriptural authority. Women preaching, social justice, and other worldly ideologies are met with Biblical truth in this hard hitting, well done documentary. I recommend this for everyone, especially those in leadership roles.

Suggestions: Pray

This weekend my suggestion for you all, dear friends, is that you spend more time in prayer. Pray for one another. Spend time in thanksgiving, and worshipful prayer to the great God of the universe. Pray for me, please, that I would grow on the grace and the knowledge of our Lord. As always, beloved brethren, be good Berean’s and study to show yourselves approved.

Tulips & Honey: Episode 10 – Interviewing James Ferguson of CityALight

Today, dear friends, we had a very special guest join us on the program. James Ferguson, guitarist for CityALight, was gracious enough to talk to us about how the band came together, what the band is up to, what they’ve got planned for the future, and a little about himself. If you haven’t had the chance to listen to CityALight, they have wonderfully Biblically sound, edifying, quality music available on YouTube. The conversation was encouraging, and entertaining. I hope that you’ll all enjoy the discussion.

You can find the podcast on iTunes, Podbean, YouTube, Stitcher, Spotify, /, and many other podcasting platforms. If there’s a platform you haven’t been able to find us on please let me know and I’ll get to work on it. Tulips & Honey Hub – Episode 5: How God Saved a Religious Z-Gen

Today, dear ones, we dropped the fifth episode of Tulips & Honey. We had the absolute pleasure of interviewing blogger Emma from MyRedemptionForHisGlory. We talked about how she grew up in a Biblically sound church but needed to understand the Gospel for herself. She gives some great resources, and advice for reaching young people with the truth of Gods Word. We had some fun, as well as dealing with such a serious topic. I hope this conversation will be edifying and encouraging.

I also have a very exciting clip for you, our very first commercial! If you haven’t heard yet, Emily from HeMadeUsAlive alongside her hubby will be joining the Hub!

Their brand new podcast, The Aquila and Priscilla Hour, will be launching next Tuesday on the T&H Hub! They’ll be dropping episodes the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. I can’t wait for you to hear their first episode!

Tulips & Honey – Episode 4: Homeschooling

Today’s episode on Tulips & Honey you’ll finally get to hear Kayleigh’s discussion with me about homeschooling. Becca also joins me to discuss her childhood in both homeschooling, and public school as well as what she’s learned in college about children’s education. I hope this episode will be fun and edifying at the same time.

For those of you who were praying for the interview today with Ray Comfort, thank you so much! It went great, he was very kind and humble. He answered almost all your questions, so keep your eye out for that interview. You can find all the links to the podcast at my profile, or here at our new website. What Would You Ask Ray Comfort?

Dear ones, this Thursday I’ll be given the absolute honor of interviewing Ray Comfort on the Tulips & Honey program. Just in case you’re not following me on social media, I wanted to give my readers the opportunity to tell me what you’d like to ask him. I’m going to attempt to get to as many questions as I can, although his time is short.

He’s joining me to discuss his new book, which was published in April, titled “Faith is for Weak People”. This book is filled without helpful insight into how our brother is able to share the Gospel. He goes through common, or difficult, questions those he talks to bring up. Throughout the book he encourages the reader through Scripture, and his own personal struggle. It’s even got helpful questions at the end of each chapter to help cement the truth you’ve read into your memory. It’s available in audio, kindle, and paperback.

Tulips & Honey – Sharing the Gospel with the Cults: Talking to the Mormons

In today’s episode, dear ones, Becca and I have some fun before going through the hour and a half long conversation I had with Mormon missionaries. I hope that this episode is edifying, encouraging, and educational to you all. This is probably one of the longest episodes I’ve dropped, but we felt like this was important enough to go a little over an hour. Also, I’m excited to announce that this podcast is officially available on Stitcher! If there are other platforms you’d like to listen to Tulips & Honey on please let me know.

Also, if there’s a topic you’d like us to address let me know if the comments. Don’t forget to check out our new website, here, where you can find all the links to connect with us on social media and listen to the podcast. We’re keeping track of all the listeners questions so if you’d like us to answer a question on air you can leave a comment here and we’ll be sure to get to it. If you’ve been blessed by the episodes, please don’t forget to subscribe and leave reviews as that helps with the algorithms.

Have you had that same knock on your door? Or do you maybe have a relative that’s in a cult? I’d love to hear about it. Also…cereal? Is it a soup? Weigh in! If you’ve got a word for the word of the day, you can also let me know about that. Want to have a podcast yourself? The Tulips and Honey Hub is currently taking applications for podcasts who want to join us. So if that’s something you’re considering or something you’d like to ask about, shoot me an email. As always, beloved brethren, be good Berean’s and study to show yourselves approved.
