Mars is the next planet in our series through the solar system.
Mars is the fourth planet, and the last terrestrial planet we’ll be talking about. It’s nearly half the size of Earth, with a similar rotation time of 24 and a half hour days. The year on Mars is almost twice as long as Earths. Its atmosphere is so thin that liquid water would evaporate immediately, although it does have frozen carbon dioxide. This is because the planet rarely gets above freezing. Mars has two moons, the outer moon Deimos is just under 10 miles wide, and the inner moon Phobos is just about 10 miles wide.
What problems does Mars pose for evolutionism? Honestly, in the case of Mars, it seems as though evolutionists have created problems for themselves. There is evidence for possible water on Mars at some point, such as a canyon much bigger than the Grand Canyon. There’s also what appears to be dried up river beds. The problem comes in when they begin to discuss the possibility of a global flood on Mars. Yes, that’s right, global flood. On a planet where water is currently not possible in liquid form evolutionists declare a Genesis like deluge. Here on Earth, however, where there’s enough water in the oceans to cover a flattened surface with over a mile deep of water, they mock anyone who believes in a global flood. I can’t understand this one, friends. Mars has a very thin atmosphere of carbon dioxide, a slight magnetosphere, and dormant volcanoes. Far from being the old, cold, dead planet, it should have been, Mars continues to fascinate the imaginations of all who research it.
What was Gods plan for Mars, and its two moons? I believe that here, between Mars and Earth, we see a contrast. God spent far longer creating Earth, making it inhabitable for life. When we look at Mars we certainly see Gods creativity, we also see how special Earth is.
Next week we’ll move on to the gas giants, and that’s when things get really interesting! I hope you’ll continue to be edified by this series, and have your confidence in Gods Word renewed. As always, beloved, be good Bereans and study to show yourself approved.
