Women’s Ministry with Erin Coates – A Story of Death to Life

Today’s episode is one of those interviews that I recommend tissues for. And a notepad and pen!

Hello, dear ones! I hope this post finds you all doing well. Today’s episode is one of those interviews that I recommend tissues for. And a notepad and pen! Erin Coates joined me and tells how God graciously saved her from drugs, partying, and abortion. She now directs the women’s ministry at her church as a pastors wife and a homeschooling mom. She has a heart and passion for the truth of Gods Word to be taught to women! After watching how the women’s ministry was done at Grace during her husbands time in The Masters Seminary, she had a good foundation for how to grow women in Biblical maturity. Don’t forget to mark your calendars because Erin will be a featured speaker at Brooke Bartz free online Women’s Conference Open Hearts in a Lost World July 13th thru the 17th 9:30 CST, with worship done by CityALight.

There were some really fun, light hearted moments that I was able to get for the blooper reel at the end, so don’t miss it. I don’t usually ask this, but if you know someone who has had an abortion, is considering an abortion, or works at the abortion mill and could use some encouragement, please share this episode with them. Below is a timestamped outline in case you’d like to zip through this episode, as well as the links to Erin’s social media so you can follow her ministry. You can, of course, listen across all major podcasting platforms such as PodbeaniTunesSpotifyGoogle PlayiHeart RadioStitcher, and in video form on Youtube.  As always, beloved brethren, be good Berean’s and study to show yourselves approved.

The Abolitionist Movement

Dear ones, I’m absolutely thrilled to drop today’s episode about a topic that I’m so passionate about. Michael Coughlin, a brother who has been such a blessing to me through his podcast and social media. We discussed his testimony, how he went from Roman Catholicism, to mysticism, to being saved by the grace of God. Then he explained the difference between being pro-life and being an abolitionist, as well as giving advice for sharing the Gospel at the abortion mills. I’m hoping this episode will be both encouraging to those of us that are frustrated with the current state of “legalized” murder, and educational for anyone wanting to do more.

Friday Mega List – Recommendations, Reviews, and Suggestions: November 1st, 2019

Hello, and welcome to another MEGA list! It’s officially November. How did that even happen? We’ll be driving across the country on Sunday, to our next assignment. Today I’m busily wrapping up all the final errands, packing, organizing, and preparations that go into a full days worth of driving. We’ve decided this time to enjoy the trip, taking our time and stopping often. This will be a first. Usually it’s a mad dash to get where we need to be in time to get keys and unpack before my hubby heads to work at a new hospital. That being said, so long as there’s good internet, I should still be around on Sunday and episodes of Tulips & Honey will not be affected. Monday’s episode will be an interview with two of my favorite podcast hosts, Patrick and Tony from Cave to the Cross Apologetics. They graciously joined us to discuss theology, books, and philosophy. On Thursday, Lord willing, we’ll be dropping an episode on Beth Moore, women teachers, and false doctrines.

Recommendations

I have a couple recommendations for you today, dear ones. First is an interview from a member of our Tulips & Honey team, Emma over at MyRedemptionForHisGlory! The guys over at Undying Light, a great podcast I’d also recommend, have Emma on their program. Don’t miss their edifying conversation, you can listen here. My second recommendation is Dr. Steve Lawson’s Men’s Bible Study. Yesterday the posted a new video, and what a wonderful exposition of Scripture! This is my favorite thing to watch right now. You can check it out here.

Review

BAMH2 was released by Apologia Studios this week, although there is some clear evidence that social media platforms are suppressing it to the best of their ability. As heartbreaking as the first, this follow up documentary explains the betrayal of the ProLife community. We see, yet again, that many who claim to be ProLife actually fight against abolition laws. This is tragic. I pray that the Lord uses this movie to help wake us all up to the evil of brutally murdering a baby in the womb. Please like, comment, and share this video to help work against the social media platforms who are attempting to prevent it from being seen.

Suggestions

My suggestion for you, dear friends, this weekend is that you pray for all those that Kayliegh passed Gospel tracts out to last night. That includes the relatives of the family we went out with, who were eager to read what we were passing out and very supportive. Only one person refused our tracts, which might just be a record! There were very few people out, and even few houses with their lights on. I’m thinking we might not have many years left of taking advantage and passing out the truth! Trick or treating seems to be giving way to safer, indoor activities, which would be harder to hand out tracts to. What about you, dear friends? Did you pass out tracts, have a Reformation party, shut off your lights? And did you also notice a large drop in numbers? As always, beloved brethren, be good Berean’s study to show yourselves approved.

Twisted Tuesday – Does Scripture Support Abortion?

Today, dear friends, for Twisted Tuesday I’d like to address the verses many in the pro-abortion camp quote. To say that it is ironic to hear Scripture used out of context by those that claim Christians “cherry pick” the verses we like is an understatement. Regardless, these are all too often used to defend the needless murder of babies. Last month there was a popular meme on social media listing several verses claiming to support abortion. If you come across these arguments, my hope is to better equip you with proper context so that you can respond with truth, and love. The most loving thing we can do is tell the truth of God’s Word.

Exodus 21:22 is one of the verses that is used and is self contradictory to their point. Unfortunately, there is little to know teaching on how to think logically, or critically, today. Most who hear this and repeat it don’t realize what they’re saying is not what the verse is saying. The argument is that killing the baby in the womb only results in a fine, but killing the mother is the death penalty. Read it again, if any harm is done, to the mother or the baby, it’s the death penalty. Only if the baby lives, and comes out healthy, is there just a fine.

Leviticus 27:6, as seen above, is used to claim that the baby has no value to God until it’s one month old. This is the logical fallacy of Arguing from Silence. Not only are there many verses in Gods Word that proclaim God knew us while we were still being formed, but also about how we bare Gods image and thus are given specific dignity from conception. This verse does not say a new born, or not yet born, baby has no value.

From Numbers 3:15-16 it is argued that God does not count infants younger than a month to actually be human beings. As in the last verse we discussed, this is an argument from silence. It’s not stating that infants are less human, or not human at all, it’s not addressing that topic at all. To pull this out of its context is not arguing with honesty and integrity, nor does the argument follow logically.

Numbers 31:17 is used alongside a list of verses, none of which describe the murder of infants in the womb. However, the list includes the killing of enemy peoples during war. This particular verse is referring to the sons of those who fought against Israel, the killing of which we don’t understand today but was a common practice in war. Ironically, in any other circumstance, pro-abortion atheists would use such verses to accuse God of being evil. However, when they themselves want to take the throne and decide who lives and dies, these verses are cherry picked for their own purposes. Only God has the authority to give and to take life, He is the creator, the only true and living God.

I wanted to separate the verses in Hosea from that of Numbers because the context, and literary usage are completely different. Numbers is a historical narrative, Hosea includes prophetic judgment language. The idea of a barren womb was often used as judgement in the Old Testament. Likewise, being fruitful and multiplying was often used as a term for blessing on a people group. This is, yet again, not God approving of man murdering infants or the unborn. It’s judgement language is not outward, but inward to Israel. You can see the kindness of God in that, although Israel had forsaken God and worshipped idols, Hosea includes a promise of reconciliation.

This is the last one I want to deal with today. Numbers 5:27 is such a strange thing for the pro-aborts to use as a verse supporting abortion. There’s no indication that this is referring to a miscarriage, much less an abortion. The Hebrew root term translated thigh here, yarek, is most likely a euphemism for lady parts. There are other places where it’s translated loins. I’m really not sure how anyone could have taken this to mean abortion. What we do know is that the lost suppress the truth in unrighteousness. Using any of these verses to justify the pulling apart of an unborn image barer limb from limb, or poisoning them in ways more painful and cruel then we kill our worst criminals, simply adds one sin on top of another. Those that would misuse the Bible in this way need our prayers, and our steadfast, uncompromising stand of the truth of what Gods Word actually says. It’s not a mystery, beloved brethren, it’s a clear and inerrant Book. Share the Gospel with the lost, with those who promote death, with those who argue for the right to murder. Do not falter in this area, dear ones. As always, beloved brethren, be good Berean’s and study to show yourselves approved.

Recalling Series – Intelligent Design: The Miracles of Life Parts I-X

Hello, dear ones, I hope this post finds you all doing well! As I’ve created some new social media platforms I thought it would be a good idea to pull together the many scientifically rooted series done throughout the past two years for new readers. Right now, as we see states allowing the murder of babies all the way up until the day they are due to be born, this might be the most important series I’ve done. It’s also one of my favorite series that I did, as I recall how fascinating the research was! I hope this series will bless you if you missed it, or blessed you back when it was originally posted. As always, beloved brethren, be good Berean’s and study to show yourselves approved.

The Sixth Commandment

Today, my friends, we have a heavy subject. I actually had three separate posts floating in my head, and I knew this morning around 1:00 am I needed to choose. As this topic happened to coincide with LivingWaters new movie trailer and the early download option, I decided it would be the best fit. I want to discuss murder, in particular, the murder of innocent babies in their mother’s womb, but also the murder of the heart. But first, let me give you some details on the new Ray Comfort movie!

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=uh-sYXgv4SI&t=1s

It’s a follow up to the 180 movie and is titled 7 Reasons. The movie will, of course, be free on May 9th and available on YouTube. The trailer dropped today, and also the option to purchase the movie early. It comes with an animated teaching tool and a 26-page booklet for $19.99. They do this before each movie is released on YouTube as a way to raise funds for their next project. Recently I heard from an atheist that Comfort was lining his pockets with money from his foolish followers. It’s true that he could be a millionaire by now, just on book sales, but everything they earn goes back into the not-for-profit ministry. He receives a check from the ministry, lives in the same small house he always has and travels via bike most anywhere he needs to go. I understand that the prosperity hacks make us all nervous, but it’s important that we know the truth about one another before we believe accusations such as that one.

That being said, let’s move on to the topic at hand, which happens to be the same topic as LivingWaters new movie. Abortion has been highlighted in the news early this year, as some states push to further abortion, and others to limit or do away with it. There are a few points I want to make, starting with the idea that it’s not a baby, it’s just a fetus. Fetus is simply Latin for baby, and embryo is Greek for baby. So, when you hear someone use these terms to sound scientific just understand they’re saying ”its not a baby, its a baby.” Scientists, and even most abortion doctors, know exactly what they’re killing, from conception the DNA is uniquely human. As Christians, we know that every baby is made in the image of God, and to kill an image bearer is the break the sixth commandment.

The second point I’d like the make is the most base, hard to type, cold, point that I have. We’re killing our genetic variation. A while ago I wrote a series on genetic mutations and explained that our DNA is mutating at a quick rate, and those mutations are passed down to our children, who create their own and pass it down with ours. It’s a compounded mutation rate, that began at the fall of mankind in the garden. This is why, with each new generation, there are more medical needs. In a hundred years from now, there will be too great a strain on the hospitals. In two hundred years from now, should the Lord tarry, humanity will find it difficult to reproduce, due to genetic mutations. When a group of people remains separated genetic variation is limited, which gives the gene editors in our DNA less to work with. Now we have worldwide travel! It’s a beautiful thing, someone with all the genetic mutations of a small island can meet and marry someone with all the genetic mutations of a big city, and the gene editor will select the healthiest pieces in the genome for their children. I don’t think this is why abortion is wrong, if our genome was perfect abortion would still be wrong. I just wonder why the scientific community isn’t discussing this issue.

The last point I want to make is the reality of the situation. My husband, my hero, is currently working with an OBGYN that takes risky pregnancies. He has kept babies alive far smaller than the ones being killed in abortion mills all over the world. Recently he broke his record for the smallest baby he’d ever intubated. He works nights, the doctor was 20 minutes out, and the baby was crashing. So small, they had to hold the baby and use their thumbs to do compressions. He prayed for God to help him because he had struggled with babies bigger than this one. First try, he was able to intubate and stabilize that beautiful baby. Often times he sees children that were delivered as early as 25 weeks, now coming in for check-ups at age 2, or 3. The parents find him on social media and he gets to watch daily as these little image bearers flourish.

The reality is that worldwide a billion babies have been killed through abortion, making it the number one cause of death. There was a time when Gods people turned to idles and sacrificed their babies on burning hot alters. This is why we read God warning them not to let their babies pass through the fire. We, as Gods people, need to be in deep prayer. We need to pray for those involved in abortions and those performing them. This brings me to the second murder I wanted to discuss. Murder of the heart. Jesus has expressly told us that to hate or be unjustly angry, is murder in Gods eyes. We are devastated by the murder of the innocent, but we must not let that become bitterness towards those in leadership, those doctors, workers, or the mothers involved. For some, that will go without saying, but not for everyone. Many have become frustrated with the continued push towards full-term abortion, and that can lead to hate. I hope the video clips I’ve included are helpful to you all, and I hope you’ll join me in prayer. As always, beloved brethren, be good Bereans and study to show yourselves approved.

Wednesday Testimony – Foreknown

When I found this testimony, and watched it, I wept. We’ve been going through this series on the miracle of life, and I can think of no better Testimony this week then two people who were forgiven for taking innocent lives. Why? Because God’s grace is irresistible. Because God’s forgiveness is attainable. Because Christ came, for the sins of all who believe, and had the wrath of God poured out on Him that day on the cross. Because by grace through faith in Christ alone we can be saved.

I pray you will each be blessed by this testimony, and the knowledge that forgiveness is real, God’s love is genuine. He is also a God of justice, one who is angry at sin everyday. If you’ve come to see the Christian God as some Santa clause genie who gives to all without requiring repentance then you will find yourself on judgement day facing this thrice holy God which you spent your life sinning against, and you will stand condemned of worshipping a false idol. Repent, dear friend, and work through your salvation with fear and trembling. As always, beloved brethren, be good Berean’s and study to show yourselves approved.
