***Quick Announcement***
I am absolutely thrilled to welcome a new podcast into the Tulips & Honey Hub family! The Chuck & Lo Show! Tomorrow, Lord willing, Chuck and Lo’s testimony will be sharing on Tulips & Honey and soon, you’ll be hearing from them on their very own podcast. I’ll keep you all updated, but until more news comes out you can follow them on Twitter. Please join me in praying for them as they begin their podcasting journey. Over and out.
As you’re all aware, dear friends, October is Reformation month! So, I thought I’d share a Luther hymn. In common slang, I believe we’d call Luther pretty salty. My own term for it is feisty. However you title it, it comes through beautifully in this hymn. I pray that it is a blessing to you, beloved, as it is to me. As always, be good Berean’s and study to show yourselves approved.
A tow’r of strength our God is still!
A mighty shield and weapon;
He is our help from all the ill
That hath us now o’ertaken.
The old bitter foe
Now means deadly woe:
Deep guile and great might
Are his dread arms in fight,
On earth is not his equal.
With might of ours here naught is done,
Our loss were soon effected:
But for us fights the Valiant One,
Who God Himself elected.
Ask you: “Who is He?”
Christ Jesus: here see
Great Sabaoth’s Lord!
There is no other God:
His is the field forever.
Though devils all the world should fill,
All watching to devour us,
We tremble not, we fear no ill,
They cannot overpower us.
This world’s prince may still
Scowl fierce as he will,
He can harm us none,
For he is judged—undone;
One little Word o’erthrows him.
The Word of God they shall let stand
And not a thank have for it,
Here Christ Himself leads the command
With His great gifts and Spirit;
And take they our life,
Goods, fame, child and wife,
When their worst is done,
They yet have nothing won;
The kingdom ours remaineth.
Thank you, Lauren. This is a different version of A Mighty Fortress is Our God. Blessings for your week.

Sounds much like “a mighty fortress is our God”, which is not a bad thing 🙂
