The Heaven’s Declare – The Moon

This week, continuing our series on the solar system, we are going to discuss the Moon. Like we have done previously, we’re going to talk about the Moon, Gods purpose for it, and how it refutes evolutionism.

In comparison to Earth, the Moon is roughly as wide as the USA. It’s the only other celestial body that human beings have stepped foot on, and if you have a telescope and know where to point it, those foot prints are still up there. That’s because there’s no weather on the moon. The Moon turns in a way where we see only one side of it, some people call that side the Man in the Moon.

What was Gods purpose for the Moon? The easy answer is that it’s the light provided for the night. That’s true enough, but did you know that the Moon is an important piece making the Earth inhabitable? The Moon creates the tides in our oceans, those oceans provide more than just food. Almost half of the air we need to breathe is provided by underwater plant life. God created a spectacular system for us, and the Moon plays an important role in that system.

The Moon also provides many problems for evolutionism. The main one is that, based on laws of physics, the Moon must be moving away from Earth. Don’t worry, it’s a very small amount unless you are looking back millions or billions of years, in which case you have a problem. There is a distance close enough to the Earth where the Moon would be broken up. So we know there is a limit to how close the Moon could have been, and by running that clock backward we see that there’s no way the Moon could be millions, or billions, of years old.

Another evidence for the young age of the moon is the impact basins and ghost craters. These are areas on the maria side of the Moon where collisions caused the crust to fracture and allowed molten lava to flow out. The ghost craters are thought to be caused by further impacts that were smaller and covered in the lava flow. Oddly enough, secular scientists suggest it took 500 million years for the lava to decide to flow out and fill the basin. This is not a problem for the creationist, however, who believe the impacts happened over a short period of time.

In conclusion, God the great Creator made the Moon for many reasons, including making Earth inhabitable. It’s also for signs and seasons. It does not fit into the evolutionist’s models for the solar system and gives clear evidence for a young age. Beloved, we can stand firm on Gods Word. Fossil Friday – Dinosaur Tracks

We’ve been traveling for a few years now and have yet to make our way to some of these fascinating tracks. Mostly medical reasons, and poor planning on my part. Hopefully, before we settle somewhere we’ll get the opportunity.

I’m amazed by the tracks left behind by these creatures. How is it that erosion didn’t destroy them before they were covered up layer by layer over long periods of time? The tracks found in Australia began to erode almost immediately after being uncovered. The obvious answer is that they were covered quickly. There are a couple problems with this, from the evolutionary standpoint.

1. These tracks are found all over the planet.

2. The tracks are found in layers of rock with marine life.

This brings me back to the point I’ve made before. Both creationists and evolutionists are looking at the same data, uneroded tracks clearly found in sediment laid down by water. From the worldview that Noah’s flood could not have happened, this is just the result of many large floods worldwide. I say large floods because of the amazing distance these tracks cover. To the person who holds to Gods Word these tracks are yet another example of the great flood of Noah. Each side has come to the same conclusion, flood, but their perspective on how and why the flood happened differs.

Evolutionary geologists have, in recent decades, admitted that rock layers do not take long periods of time to be laid down. Now, for the most part, they suggest the time is found between the layers. It’s only a matter of time before they change this position, as there is simply no evidence of erosion between layers.

Top Ten – Living Waters Presents…

This thirty-minute video is an excellent introduction into the world of creation science, as it gives believers a renewed trust in the strength of Gods Word.

I’ve been often reminded recently of how silly it must have sounded in the days of Abraham to have his descendants as numberless as the stars. There was no reason for anyone to believe there were more stars than one could count. The Dawkins of Abrahams time would have ridiculed the prophesy, unaware that there were billions upon billions of stars in the universe. The science of the time hadn’t yet caught up to the mind of God. Our science has also yet to catch up to the mind of God in many ways, however here are ten ways it has caught up.

A Book Review Of Around the Wicket Gate

Around the Wicket Gate by Charles Spurgeon is a Book he wrote addressing those who are nearly saved but for varies, reasons have yet to enter the ‘Wicket Gate’. I adore John Bunyons The Pilgrims Progress, and happily enjoyed Spurgeon’s use of the allegory. Through out the book, he adds little bits of pieces of the characters and adventures, all the while imploring the reader to into the gate.

This book was published in 1890 and is now in the public domain. This means you can either buy a copy for yourself, enjoy a PDF version online, or hear an audible version of it. We travel none stop, so I appreciate the Kindle version of books. However I do have a running list of books I want in my future library, this book is on that list.

A dear, sweet part of this book was when he referenced the ‘technology’ of his time in comparison with their great, great grandparents. The point he was making was that it would be difficult for his grandparents to trust him when it came to little pieces of wood that make fire (matches) or getting on a train or sending telegrams. I thought this was such a beautiful illustration of how we need to trust in the Lord and a neat way to be brought back to his time period.

I recommend this book to everyone who knows someone hanging out ‘around the Wicket Gate’. The simplicity with which he explains the gospel is both profound, and accurate.

Here is a man whose ministry has greatly blessed me, and many others in the body of Christ. His testimony here is a tribute to how God can use tremendously difficult situations to benefit His called. I’m so thankful to God for raising up men who expound His word faithfully! Twisted Tuesday – Conviction

As I mull over what to write about every Tuesday my mind is frequently brought back to the bad doctrine I had taken in for over a decade. Once I was made a new creature, the old man passed away, and remembering my old life seems now like watching a rerun of a show you’ve seen too many times. It’s good for me to remember how easily fooled I was by these false teachers, and gives me a greater compassion for those still being deceived. That being said, my greatest sorrow comes from the Holy Spirit is spoken of falsely.

To what doctrine am I referring to? The false doctrine that ‘believers’ shouldn’t be convicted of sin. As I researched this one the memories came flooding back. This doctrine is like scales on the eyes, wax in the ears, and calluses built up around the heart. I used the idea that all conviction of sin was from the accuser of the brethren. Essentially I was giving credit to Satan for the work of the Holy Spirit, I was a Pharisee. Why did I make this mistake? Because I was fooled into believing that the prayer I said as a teenager meant I was no longer under condemnation. The false teachers of today stand boldly before the goats and proclaim them free from condemnation, and subsequently, from the conviction of sin as well. It’s the lies of the devil! I closed my eyes, plugged my ears, and hardened my heart to the saving work of the Holy Spirit. Then I maligned His name by announcing His work to be the work of the enemy.

What’s the truth though? How do we refute the wolves in sheep’s clothing teaching these blasphemous doctrines? We use scripture. Sola Scriptura is the very doctrine that will save people out of these false teachings. What do the scriptures say? They say that the Holy Spirit, God, and Jesus Christ Messiah convict us of sin. All throughout scripture we are being convicted of sin. 1 John is a ringing indictment to all those preaching such false doctrines.

Why are we being convicted of sins? Because God wants to make us feel bad? No. God wants us to repent, to turn away from our sins. The wages of sin is death! We, as truly converted believers, are sensitive to the chastisement of the Holy Spirit. When I am convicted I don’t recoil in anger, I praise God that He is working in me! Friendship with the world is enmity with God. I want nothing to do with the world, I am so thankful that God has seen fit to not only save me but to sanctify me. I am wretched, He is full of mercy.

To conclude beloved, the work of the Holy Spirit to convict sins is to create a bride for the bridegroom that is without blemish. We should be thankful for this work because he who the Father loves the Father chastens. If you are not being convicted of your sins, I would encourage you to work through your salvation with fear and trembling. Take the whole counsel of God! The Heavens Declare – The Earth

Today in our series of the solar system we are going to speak briefly about Earth. I could stay on this subject for months and not cover all the tremendous beauty and majesty of the Creators creation. However, to keep things organized, I’ll just talk about Earth as a planet.

Earth is the third planet from the Sun and is the only planet known to be inhabited. Secular models suggest this planet is 4.5 billion years old right now, although those numbers tend to change from decade to decade. Earth is over 70% water, with the perfect atmosphere to sustain life, and a magnetic field that protects it from the Suns charged particles. Its axis is tilted slightly giving us light seasonal changes. It rotates at a speed slow enough not to cause disastrous winds, and fast enough to insure the side of the Earth facing away from the Sun doesn’t freeze.

The main evidence as a planet the Earth gives against the secular models is the large amount of water. If you smoothed out the Earth’s surface, the oceans would flood the entire planet with a mile and a half deep of water. That’s a lot of H2O. If Earth was created this close to the sun, there’s no possible way for it to have water. Evolutionists have tried to invoke asteroids, or comets, as the means for this water. There are numerous problems with this, such as the composition of ice. However, even if those objects had the right materials, there isn’t enough of them to produce our water supply. The issues don’t subside there. Our magnetic field is also a problem for evolutionary models. Earth’s magnetic field looses half its energy every 1400 years, so if you work that back, the magnetic field couldn’t be more than 20,000 years old. All secular astronomers admit that geomagnetic fields are simply a mystery. They have no explanation for it. The last problem I want to list, although I encourage you all to research further as I’m just scratching the surface, is that Earth should be old, cold, and dead like the other planets. But, after so called “billions of years”, our planet’s core still radiates immense heat, and volcanic activity persists in spite of what should be happening.

What was Gods purpose for Earth? God created the Earth for man. Many theologians call this Gods common grace. I have often felt that if I had never been given the unbelievable gift of salvation, just the grace God gave me in allowing me to live my life with my beautiful daughter and amazing husband would be more than I ever deserved. This is what’s meant by common grace, not that the grace itself is common, but that it’s given to everyone.

Fossil Friday – Soft Tissues And More

Last Friday we talked about the Soft Tissue Fossils that have been found revealing skin patterns of varies creatures. This week I’m going to list some of the more spectacular fossil discoveries related to soft tissue.

I was surprised to see a small contingent of evolutionists flat out denying all of these discoveries, most of which have been found by fellow evolutionists. However, it’s easy to dismiss these folks as they have no evidence whatsoever to back up their claim, other than the dogmatic belief in deep time. I wanted to mention it still, in case you come across these types of people who refuse to look at evidence contrary to their worldview.

What type of evidence am I referring to? Blood cells, blood vessels, fibrous tissues, and (my favorite) unfossilized dinosaur bones. Strangely enough duckbill, and other type, dinosaur bones have been found not permineralized. These bones were so fresh when found that they were mistaken for modern bison bones.

I encourage you, friends, if you enjoy this type of study, to review each of the fascinating finds. There is no secular explanation for how any of these materials could have lasted millions of years. I want to point out again that I don’t write these as points of salvation. Only the Holy Spirit can cause a heart of stone to be replaced with one of flesh. I write these for two reasons, as encouragement to the brethren who have wondered about the supposedly factual evolutionism, and for those believers who encounter opposition to the faith based on evolution. We need to have an answer for why we believe what we believe. I hope these short blogs can help with these two objectives in any small way.
